Florida Man Gets Fired From Lifeguard Job, Steals Hammer, Robs Teen Of Truck, Drives To Another County Where He Steals A Copy Car Smashes Into Guardrail And Runs Into Woods
Clearwater – A Florida man was arrested after a three-day search for that ended when he stole and crashed a Florida Highway Patrol cruiser. It all started when Florida man was fired from his job where he worked occasionally as a lifeguard. He was terminated after he smashed the windows of his supervisor’s car. Florida man was booked and released the next day. The following day Florida man stole a hammer from Home Depot then went to the contractor-loading zone and tried to force two men to give him their truck, police said. When that didn’t work, he went to the parking lot and got into the driver’s seat of a car by threatening the passenger with the hammer. Florida man took the truck and was later found on the east coast of Florida walking on the side of the highway appearing to be in medical distress. A trooper stopped to help him. Florida man was incoherent when the trooper tried talking to him, so the trooper called for medical help. The trooper then walked to a road ranger who had pulled up behind his patrol cruiser so he could get Florida man some water. Florida man proceeded to get into the trooper’s cruiser and drove away. Other troopers were dispatched to help and pulled Florida man over. When they got out of their cruisers to apprehend him, Florida man put the stolen cruiser in reverse, accelerated at the troopers, then drove away again. Florida man tried his best to escape in the cruiser but eventually drove into the grass median and struck the guardrail.
